The purpose of the Career and Technical Training (CTT) scholarship program is to provide workforce training and supplemental education funding assistance to APICDA residents. APICDA supports the educational endeavors of residents in the APICDA region who wish to pursue certified vocational training. Vocational training/supplemental education will assist our communities in building stronger infrastructures to promote and achieve the economic development necessary to help sustain our communities.
How to Qualify:
Applicants must:
- Be a resident of Akutan, Atka, False Pass, Nelson Lagoon, Nikolski, St. George, or Unalaska. In addition, former residents and potential new residents are eligible if they undergo training that qualifies them for a job in the region, or if a former resident is currently employed by a local regional entity and their training will directly benefit the region.
- Provide proof of enrollment in a vocational training program or career development program.
- Applications must be turned in 10 business days prior to the start date of training or education course.
- Scholarships are awarded for any amount up to $4,000 per calendar year, based on applicant’s financial need.
